A Cursed Marriage in Uttarakhand

A chilling tale of a newlywed couple in Uttarakhand battling a dark curse tied to vengeance, obsession, and the paranormal. Will they ever escape it?

Keshav and Sonakshi, newlyweds from Uttarakhand, were looking forward to starting their life together. On their first night as husband and wife, Keshav suggested they take the time to know each other better. Their conversation was light, and Sonakshi seemed at ease. She asked him to sleep while she stayed awake for a while. Keshav, a light sleeper, woke to the sound of murmuring. When he checked, he found Sonakshi staring blankly, her eyes wide open. The eerie moment passed, but a shadow of unease settled over Keshav.

The next day, things appeared normal. Sonakshi and Keshav’s mother were in high spirits as they prepared dinner. But as the family gathered at the table, Keshav’s blood ran cold. Behind his mother, Sonakshi appeared holding a knife, running toward her as if to attack. Keshav quickly intervened, but Sonakshi denied any memory of the incident. Shaken, Keshav reached out to her father, who assured him this behaviour was unlike her. Later that evening, as they argued, a series of loud crashes came from Sonakshi’s room. Keshav found her sobbing amid broken objects, insisting, “It wasn’t me. Please believe me.”

Fearing for her safety, Keshav sent his mother to their hometown. That night, Sonakshi slept in a separate room, while Keshav hoped for normalcy to return. But as he drifted off, a knock on the door startled him. “It’s me, Sonakshi,” she said, wanting to talk. He dismissed her, urging her to sleep. A second knock came, but this time, a guttural male voice demanded, “Open the door.” Gathering his courage, Keshav opened the door to find deep, inhuman scratch marks.

Panicked, he searched for Sonakshi and found her crouched in a corner, eating cockroaches and rats. When he approached, she turned, crying and begging for help. But as Keshav tried to comfort her, she grabbed a knife and stabbed him. When he woke in the hospital, his mother revealed that Sonakshi had been taken into custody. Her father finally confessed that an obsessive ex-boyfriend had cursed her with a vengeful spirit, swearing she would find happiness only with him.

Though Sonakshi denied remembering these events, the curse lingered. One night, she heard murmuring—this time from Keshav’s side. When she checked, she found him sitting upright, whispering the same haunting words she once murmured, his eyes wide open.

The curse was no longer hers alone—it had now claimed them both.
